How to Crop Images Online with Aspect Ratios (Photo Editor Studio)

Social platforms punish the wrong aspect ratio: Instagram squares, Stories 9:16, YouTube 16:9. Photo Editor Studio’s Crop tool lets you drag a precise selection with locked ratios, clamp to the canvas, then apply a clean crop you can keep editing or export immediately.
Built-in aspect presets

How to crop in Studio
- Open your image in Photo Editor Studio.
- Select Crop from the tool rail (shortcut C).
- Pick an aspect preset in the Properties panel — or leave Free.
- Drag on the canvas to draw the crop rectangle (it stays inside the canvas bounds).
- Optionally Flip H/V or rotate 90° from the Crop panel before applying.
- Click Apply crop. If you have multiple layers, Studio asks before flattening so you don’t lose work by accident.
Crop vs resize
Crop changes framing — it removes pixels outside the selection. Resize changes dimensions of the whole canvas or layer without necessarily changing composition. Use Crop when the subject needs reframing; use Resize (or the dedicated /edit?tool=resize tool) when you only need smaller file dimensions.
After you crop
Add text, run AI Enhance, or export at 2× scale for sharper social uploads. For transparent product cutouts after crop, pair with Remove Background in the AI panel.
