Add a Watermark to Images Online (Free, No Upload)

Add a text watermark to any image — adjust font, opacity, color, position, or tile it across the whole photo. Free, no signup, runs in your browser.

A watermark protects your work from casual theft and makes it easy for viewers to remember whose photo they're looking at. The Watermark tool adds a text overlay to any image, entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Single vs. tiled watermark

A single-corner watermark is subtle and easy to crop out — fine for casual social posts. A tiled watermark covers the whole image with a repeating pattern of your name or handle; harder to remove, essential for portfolio pieces you're sharing online but not selling.

Step-by-step

  1. Upload your image and open the Watermark tool.
  2. Type your handle, name, or copyright line.
  3. Choose font size, color, and opacity (30–50% is a good balance).
  4. Pick a corner, center, or tile mode.
  5. Download the watermarked image.

Watermark best practices

  • Use white with ~40% opacity on dark photos, black on light photos.
  • Position corner watermarks slightly inset (24–40 px) so they don't get cropped by social crops.
  • For high-value work, use tile mode at low opacity so removing the mark also destroys the image.
